Portland, Oregon is consistently rated one of the best places to live, visit, and explore. Hawthorne Boulevard is lined with locally-owned coffee shops, boutiques selling everything from fresh-made pasta to international handicrafts. Catch a movie at the Bagdad, one of Portland’s unique and beautiful refurbished old movie houses that offer hand-crafted beverages. Or if books are more your style, check out Powell’s Hawthorne outpost; you might think it’s the most impressive independent bookstore you’ve ever been in until you see the main location downtown. Looking for antiques, toys, shoes or clothing, we have you covered! Hawthorne and Belmont, as well as the nearby neighborhoods have everything to offer, including some of the BEST 2-hand stores- consignment shop there are in town. Hawthorne is well known for it bargains. Let's not forget our major one-stop-shopping center that is now LEED's certified; only a handful of "green" stores offered by a large chain... it is worth checking out! Spending your vacation in one of our vacation rentals, in this great neighborhood, in this perfect city, you just cannot go wrong. From each of our beautiful vacation rentals, you'll be able to roll out of bed and walk to some of the best coffee shops and breakfast spots in Portland. During the day, you have the whole city to explore, but Hawthorne could keep you busy on it's own. Great shops, lunch spots, and pretty parks are here for the perusing. At night, catch a movie at one of the neighborhood's independent movie theatres, grab a drink at one of our great neighborhood bars, or check out the fare - we've got everything from Indian to Sushi to funky burritos to satisfy your appetite. There is always more to say.... we love it here and think that you will too! |
